These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Only Us Two (“Only Us Two”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Only Us Two is a free, browser-based, link-paired messaging service designed for communication between exactly two people at a time.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Only Us Two provides an anonymous, link-paired messaging environment designed around temporary communication between two people.
The Service does not require user accounts, usernames, passwords, or registration.
The Service is designed so that message encryption and decryption occur on users' devices rather than on the server.
The operator does not possess users' message decryption keys and cannot use the Only Us Two backend to read message content.
Only Us Two does not provide user accounts.

You are responsible for maintaining access to the browser and device containing your conversation's locally stored encryption material and pairing state.
There is no account recovery process.
If you lose your device, clear your browser's site data, manually wipe your local data, or otherwise lose the locally stored encryption key material or pairing state, the operator cannot recover the affected conversation or encryption keys for you.
This is an intentional consequence of the Service's architecture.
The Service supports configurable disappearing-message periods of:
Where no disappearing-message period is configured, the Service sets no automatic deletion period, and stored data remains on the backend until the user deletes the conversation, causes an individual message to be deleted through the burn-after-delivery function, or otherwise removes the data.
Users should not treat the Service as a permanent archive or backup system.
Only Us Two uses end-to-end encryption based on:
The authentication design is intended to prevent either participant from later using the authentication mechanism to prove to a third party which participant sent a particular message.
The encryption implementation has not undergone a formal independent or external security review.
The Service therefore makes no guarantee that its encryption implementation is free from vulnerabilities.
The key exchange uses classical, non-post-quantum cryptography and does not provide post-quantum protection.
Users are responsible for deciding whether these limitations are acceptable for their intended use.
You must not use the Service:
The Service is a communication tool. The operator does not endorse or assume responsibility for communications made by users.
Because messages are end-to-end encrypted and the operator cannot read their content, users are responsible for the communications they choose to send and receive.
You are responsible for complying with applicable laws when using the Service.
Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use the Service for conduct that is unlawful.
Only Us Two is provided as a free service.
The operator does not promise that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser, device, network, or future software environment.
The Service may become unavailable because of technical problems, maintenance, infrastructure failures, third-party infrastructure issues, network conditions, or other circumstances.
No particular uptime or availability level is promised.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and its software are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

The Service is designed to provide end-to-end encrypted communication, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to use of, or inability to use, the Service.

The source code for Only Us Two is available on request (contact [email protected]) and auditable once access is provided.
The source code is licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0.

Nothing in these Terms grants rights beyond those provided by the applicable source-code licence.
The PolyForm licence controls the licensing of the source code. Where there is any conflict between these Terms and the applicable source-code licence concerning rights to the source code, the applicable licence governs that licensing issue.
The Service is free to use.
The only monetisation mechanism operated by Only Us Two is an optional PayPal donation link.
Donations may be one-time or recurring at the donor's discretion.
A donation is not required to access or use the Service.
Only Us Two does not provide subscriptions, in-app purchases, or other payment-processing systems.
Payments or donation transactions made through PayPal are subject to PayPal's applicable terms and policies.
Only Us Two relies on third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare for hosting, CDN, and backend infrastructure, and PayPal for optional donations.
Third-party services are outside the operator's direct control.
The operator is not responsible for the independent operation, availability, security, policies, or practices of third-party services except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.
Your use of the Service is also subject to the Only Us Two Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy describes the limited information technically stored by the Service, browser-local information, encryption architecture, deletion behaviour, third-party infrastructure, and applicable privacy rights.
Only Us Two does not operate advertising networks, affiliate programmes, or data-broker arrangements.
The operator does not sell user information or use user information for marketing.
Because Only Us Two is provided as a free service, the operator may need to suspend, modify, or discontinue the Service.
The operator does not guarantee that the Service will remain available indefinitely.
Users should not rely on Only Us Two as their sole mechanism for preserving important information.
The Service is intended for a general and international audience.
Laws differ between jurisdictions. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with the laws applicable to you.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove consumer rights or other mandatory protections that cannot legally be excluded in the jurisdiction applicable to a user.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, subject to any mandatory laws and consumer protections that apply to a user in another jurisdiction and cannot lawfully be excluded.

The operator may update these Terms from time to time.
An updated version will be published on the Only Us Two website with an updated effective date.
Continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will remain in effect, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
These Terms and the Only Us Two Privacy Policy constitute the terms governing use of the Service, except where a separate applicable licence governs the source code or other specific rights.
